Gombe State University’s New VC Is Prof. Ibrahim Umar

Prof. Ibrahim Umar has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Gombe State Universityby the Governor of the state, Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo. Until his appointment, Umar was the Dean, Faculty of Science and Postgraduate School of the university.
Here is the details of appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Umar as Gombe State University’s Vice Chancellor
Born on June 12, 1958 in Dukul village of Kwami Local Government Area of the state, Umar obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria in 1981.
He started work as a Graduate Assistant at the ABU in 1982, had a Ph. D from University of Salford, England, on Nuclear and Radiochemistry in 1987.
He was the Director, Centre for Energy Research and Training, ABU Zaria; Director, Nuclear Science and Technology, Energy Commission of Nigeria, Abuja and one time Deputy Vice Chancellor of the state university.
