The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Dr. Nkem Okeke has pledged his total support to the transformation agenda of the present administration of Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
Dr. Nkem made this pledge when he paid a courtesy visit on the Vice-Chancellor to congratulate him on his appointment. The Deputy Governor who was a staff of the University till his recent election assured the University Management of his commitment in achieving the set goals of the University. He called on all to work together with the present administration in order to achieve a common goal.
Dr. Nkem therefore prayed God to give the Vice-Chancellor the strength to pilot the affairs of the University.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku expressed appreciation to His Excellency for the honour done him. He stressed that the University is for the state and the entire world.
He reminded the Deputy Governor of some of the immediate needs of the University, one of which is the proper security in and around the Campus as well as assistance that will help in the positive transformation of the quality of life of students in the University.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Hon. Commissioner of Education, Anambra State who is also one of the staff of the University, Prof. Kate Omenugha.
